Leave a note, in case you are not back by morning.*
Leave behind any device that may passively listen to you.
Take only that which will listen when prompted.
Drive away from home until the bars close. Keep driving.
Record what you fear you would say under the influence.
Do not leave the road. Record until the tape stops spinning.
Do not flip it. Do not rewind. Return home. Remove the note.
Open the cassette. Insert magnets and sandpaper to erase
and destroy the tape were anyone to attempt to listen to it.
Insert a blade to cut the tape in half were it to play.
Close the cassette. Pray nobody hears the recording.
Maybe the recorder didn’t work at all.
